Hi all,

          We met the student Gunasekaran and his brother GnanaSekaran at Anna University, Chennai on Dec 31, 2011 at 5.00 PM.

          Myself, Indumathi, Rajendra Babu were there in the meeting and Raghavan Anna joined us over the call.

          The student showed his certificates, mark sheets, fee receipts, his father's income certifcate, fee structure. However we were not able to collect the xerox copies of the same, since it was getting late for us to get back home and no xerox shops available near by. Hence told him to hand over the copies to Boopathy after reaching Coimbatore.

          He was sanctioned with 4lakhs as loan throughout the course , which would come to 66k per semester roughly. Fees for his entire course is coming to 5.96 lakhs, that is where he is not able to manage the amount.

          For his 3rd semester, he got 83,000/- from the bank, so the bank manager is ready to release 30,000/- for this semester. 80,000/- is to paid as his 4th semester fees. To get the 50,000 released, either he should deposit the 30,000/- in bank and get the DD (Demand Draft) for entire fee (80,000/-)or pay 30,000/- in college and show the receipt to Bank Manager. It is to be noted that the Bank Manager accepted to release the fund only after the student paid the interest (12,700/-).

          As a late fee, college is expecting him to pay 500/- if he pays the fee between Jan 6th and Jan 20th. After Jan 21st, late fee will levied 100/- per day.

           He seems to be bright and an enthusiastic student and a football player too. Since he was concentrating on football more, he got low score in X. However due to a injury in his leg, he stopped playing Football and concentrated on his studies during Diploma. This is evidenced by his average percentage.

           He assured us that he would study well and keep up the high score. We also gave him a copy of SSS-Operational Guide apart from the soft copy shared to him through mail.

           If you/your friend is relaed to "Airlines Industry", please do let us know so that he can be given proper assisted apart from the guidance getting from college.

           Guna spoke to me evening , he is doing good and conveyed his wishes and regards to all and especially you, Indu and Babu.

1. As told already over phone, he is asked by his college management to pay 1500 k (1000/- for  college/sports day and 500 for late fee during last semester). He has got help from Rajendra Babu's friend (I could not re-collect his name, he was the one who brought this appeal to Babu and through him we got this appeal), but unfortunately his brother got hurt in his legs during practice and had to spend the money for the same. Hence he wanted to check if we can help him by transferring 1.5 k to his account. He would send us the receipt later. College has given a week time for this,
2. Also we need to find a pointer who can help him in getting On Job Training to him, as this would help him to continue his career.
3. I have also asked him to update us on his next semester fees. He is going to his native this weekend, he would let us know after confirming with bank. I will update once I hear from him.

  Thanks for the coordination.

1. As discussed over phone, we may not be able to sponsor the other fees like college/sports day as they fall off the objective. May be we can give the late payment fee as we had also sent the fee a little later than the stipulated time period.

2. Yes, that can be quite possible. For which we need to regularize the SSS mentorship, which is very much lagging! :( It needs to be active.
